Why

The geographical region that now comprises Pakistan has historically been home to a multitude of diverse musical forms. Each musical genre depended on unique musical instruments, dance sequences, lyrics, stories and lifestyles.

Today, due to a variety of factors, this rich artistic and cultural heritage is almost at the brink of extinction. Traditional musicians can no longer support themselves through their art. Lack of support and prejudice are forcing musicians to give up their families’ artistic traditions built over generations.

IPAC aims to provide these artists an opportunity to engage with new audiences, sustain their livelihood and traditional artistry, and encourage their younger generations to follow suit.
